Denali: The Interview (part 1)

I had the opportunity to edit this short film! I also was on set running camera and feeding ideas on the shoot! The funnest movie I’ve been part of!

My Valentine’s Day Miracle

Sometimes we don’t know what we had till it’s gone.  That applies to good things and bad things.  My miracle started around October 2010.  I was engaged to a lovely lady, but unfortunately I didn’t see it that way.  My soul had been clouded and she knew why.  I didn’t believe I had any big problems, just little problems like most folks do.  I allowed pride to get the best of me, and to her credit she did what she did not want to do and left me.

So what was the issue?  This had started about 12 years prior.  When I was in high school I started looking at porn.  For about two years I hit it fairly hard.  I realized what I was doing was wrong, so I quit…for a while.  From then on I dabbled.  I usually felt guilty but it wasn’t enough to stop me.  I was able to justify it easily.  What I didn’t realize was a fog of lust that was darkening my heart and soul.  12 years of something bad in ones life, even just drops of it, adds up.

Fast forward to February 14, 2011.  She was gone.  I really didn’t care.  Lust still had a major hold on me.  I figured I could do better.  I had bought into the lie.  But I guess I hurt just enough.  I decided a change needed to be made.  So on Valentine’s Day 2011, I quit porn.  The first two weeks was easy.  Second two weeks was harder. Then the big miracle came.

I believe God saw my sincerity in my efforts to quit looking at women the way I was.  I’ll never forget what God did for me!  The only way I can describe it is it was like a wind coming through me and blowing all the fog and junk that had been built up over time!  My eyes were open to truth for the first time in years.  I saw her the way I should have all along.  It hurt tremendously to see the aftermath of the destruction I had caused .  My life was changed forever!

So today, Valentine’s Day 2012, has been one year since the day I said no more.  It has been a hard year but a blessed one.  She has moved on and so have I.  It took me a long time to forgive myself for what I put her through, but I have.  I’ll be forever grateful to her and to Jesus for loving a sinner such as I.

This freedom is available to you too!  God does not choose favorites.  You do your part and He WILL do His!

God bless you all :)

My first short film. Shot using a Kodak Playsport and edited with Adobe Premiere 5.0. Enjoy!
